Back In Black

...and tan. Just got back from a vacation with the wife in Jamaica- had a blast, got to see a new corner of the Big Blue Marble- absolutely amazing, flying on a plane for the first time- and to think, some of us do this for a living! Too many amazing things to post here, so I'll say, if you haven't been, definitely go, although be prepared for a slight culture shock- not everyone thinks like us Yanks do. But a great place, all the same- plus, the food absolutely rocked! I'm a huge fan of Jamaican food, and finally got to see it at the source- extra five pounds not withstanding, a great experience. I'll have to include the drinks the dear wife and I came up with while there- but that's a whole other story. I'll have to put up a few pictures as well- stay well, everyone!
Troy's Double Forgiveness
(named for an acquaintance, not recommended in high doses- named for the dual hangover cure, not that I'd recommend it for that purpose)
1 oz spiced Barbadian rum
1 oz Kahluhla
7 oz. coffee
dash of cream
Mix together and serve warm or hot
Jen's Sunshine
(named for my lady friend and wife, who also originally created this drink- if you do it right, it goes down smoothly, with no bite to it at all)
1.5 oz spiced rum (again, Barbadian recommended, or Jamaican if you can find it)
1 oz vodka
8 oz pineapple juice
1.5 oz Sprite to taste
Stir together, (don't shake, it'll go flat)
Serve over ice in a chilled glass- cherry optional
As they say in the commercials, enjoy responsibly!!
